Bushfire Recovery for Wildlife and Humans, Sunday January 19, 2020

The enormity of these fires, and what they mean, can feel over-whelming. Yet right now our communities are pulling together to help one another in so many wonderful ways. Anastasia Yatras and Jenni Dall are inspired to share with you some processes that they have found helpful in processing the big feelings like grief, fear, despair, that can get in the way of working toward the world we want to be living in.

Anastasia and Jenni will draw on the teachings of BKS Iyengar (yoga master) and Joanna Macy (a buddhist teacher who has specialised in working with people struggling to process overwhelm in globally difficult times, developing a philosophy/practice of “Deep Ecology”). Together, Anastasia and Jenni have seven decades yoga experience, and almost as much teaching and workshop facilitation. Plus Jenni is a very experienced psychologist.

This half-day set of sessions work together as a whole; but if your time is limited, please join us for any or all of the segments. We just ask that you don't arrive mid-session: come at the beginning of one of the session times (above).

Who: The sessions are designed to be accessible to most. If you have never done any yoga/meditation and/or have medical issues that could make things difficult, please phone to discuss. The Despair & Empowerment Workshop is interactive (sharing in pairs) & experiential (exploring your own personal inner relationship to these difficult times, in a forward-moving way).

Bring: *  Your open heart
*   Donation [Consider: What amount might you usually spend if you went to a half-day workshop?  What can you afford, given your income?]
