Alyson has been dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga for over a decade and uses it as the foundation of her teaching practice. While students learn a sequence of postures and transitions known as the Primary Series, the method is customised as required to be more accessible to a range of needs. Students are encouraged to make informed decisions based on their unique circumstances.
The postures in the sequence evolve slowly over time and allow students to choose the depth and intensity of their experience depending how they feel on the day. The repetition of the foundation forms and concepts creates an intimacy with the sequence allowing deeper understanding of the postures and encouraging students to practice independently at home between classes.
